Merry Christmas

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and that Santa was good to you. We had a great day with Aunt Buddy and Uncle TJ here to visit. As you can see from the videos and pictures, some sideways...can't figure that one out...the boys were very excited!

Enjoy the rest of the holidays and I am sure I will be posting more pictures throughout the week.

Let it Snow, Let it snow!

Well, we have finally had our first snowfall in Williamsport and the boys were so excited. They love catching snowflakes on their tongues and of course sledding down the hills! Once we made a path there was no slowing them down. Kaleb wants to go faster each time and Kohen was on his back- head first- shooting himself down the hill. Hilarious!!! Mat and the boys were sledding as a totem pole...I was so nervous and they were just giggling the entire time. We didn't make a snow man yet, the freezing rain set in, but maybe in the coming days that will be something to look forward to.

We received the contract yesterday for the house in Muncy and will hopefully be signing it today and preparing to finish the painting and the rest. If you happen to visit us soon though, I can't promise light fixtures and flooring in all rooms yet. Less to manage and clean for now! :)

As we think about Christmas coming though I was reminded again of how awesome it is to think that God came to be with us in the form of Jesus. He faced all of the human trials and tribulations and what a marvelous act of humility on his part. Daily I strive to be like Him, and of course fail, but what an example. Remember that God is still always with us and that we can always count on Him to be faithful! He is good---all the time!

Terrible Twos????

So we have another child in the terrible twos! Although Kaleb is four and half, I think he is still in that stage some days. They are good boys and we are blessed to have them.
Kohen's Birthday was Friday and Grandma and Pappy Miller came for the weekend, along with Aunt Buddy. We had a lot of fun. We went to visit the house and did measurements of everything so that we can begin to do the flooring and lighting. Oh boy and did I mention that all trim and walls need to be painted??? Well, Rome was not built in a day and the Meyer house will be finished too...eventually!
In the pictures you can see Kohen eating his Birthday Dinner (His favorite-spaghetti w pepperoni sauce) and cake, Ice cream cake! The last picture is of him trying to cover himself from head to toe in Desitin...He is so fast and sneaky! The video is of him opening his gifts, which Kaleb loves and sometimes allows Kohen to play with. Nice of him, right?
I hope many are already finished with the things that make this season crazy and that you can enjoy the time together as Christmas day gets closer.

Home Sweet Home...Almost!

Have I ever mentioned how GREAT I think GOD is??? Well, time and time again he shows me how He is in control and that His plans are for the good of us. Today we agreed to purchase a For Sale By Owner home that met all of our needs and then some. Many times in these past six months we have wondered why things weren't "working out"...when all along they were.

And while we know that in this lovely real estate market nothing is certain, we do know that no matter what...this house, another or no house, we are BLESSED, TRULY BLESSED.

Since moving to Williamsport God has shown me that He is faithful and He is sovereign. We have all grown closer to not only Him but each other and i am so thankful.

In short, if you have never allowed yourself the opportunity to let God show you His awesomeness CALL ME! Better yet...CALL HIM- HE always answers-I am usually chasing the kids! :)

Sadly, as we celebrate a new home, Mat's coworker has lost his yesterday in a fire. Please pray for Dieter and that God will comfort and bless him immensely.

Oh Christmas Tree...Oh Christmas Tree

So another long weekend, but a lot of fun was had by all. Mat and I had his annual Christmas party and it was great to see everyone from Reading again. We actually stayed this year and had our second night away from the kids. They stayed with Aunt Buddy and Uncle TJ and while they loved it, I think Bud and TJ are never going to have kids if their nephews can help it!
Then we went to a Living Nativity with our new friends from Texas. They are so nice and we had a great time!
Today we started what we hope will be a new Meyer Christmas tradition...cutting down our own Christmas Tree. At the site where Mat works, his company bought a Christmas Tree farm...so we went four-wheeling in the truck on the landfill...A personal tour from Daddy... and then battled the FREEZING elements in search of our tree. You can see the progress from start to finish in the pictures. Turns out, Mat is great at shaping a tree with a machete. Who knew?
We have also come across a house that we love. It seems perfect and we are hoping and praying that it is in God's plan for us. If not, he knows what is best.
The day ended with a great STEELERS WIN! :)

At the park again

Yes, even on cold wintery days we will be at the park if it keeps us from going stir crazy. We went today for about an hour and the boys and I were the only ones there, but still had fun. Kohen's new "look at me" thing is from the Cat in the Hat movie with Mike Myers...Check out the video. Kaleb loves Christmas songs but when I ask him which one he wants to sing...Jingle Bells Batman smells is his choice! Who taught him that? What was it that I mentioned in the last blog about our Savior??? We are going to have to remind him of the reason for the season and not a silly song his mom only sang ONCE! Why is it that they can remember those things, yet when I ask them or tell them something else they are oblivious to my voice???
Enjoy the videos! Pictures to follow:)

Home from Pittsburgh!

We went home to spend a couple of days in the Burgh! It was great to see everyone but exhausting as usual. We always try to fit so many things in. We did visit with family and Mat and I visited with some of our FHS friends which is always a great time. I took next to no pictures but as you can see we got family ones taken.

Buddy, Mat and I battled the crowds for Black Friday...WE LOVE IT! But it wasn't as much fun without Aunt TT there:(!

Mat went hunting yesterday for the first time in YEARS! I don't understand how anyone could be quiet for so long! He didn't see anything but he plans to go a couple more times in the coming days.

No house news, keep that one in your prayers...or ask God to fill us in on his plan. We will be busy with Christmas activities as I am sure you all will. I pray that all are well and speaking of Christmas don't forget that the season isn't about being stressed out and hurried, BUT that our amazing savior was born for us so that we may LIVE! Praise God and many blessings to you all.

DD no more and crafts galore!

Well, it has been a while and if you know the word DD you know why it has been a while. Kohen calls his pacifier DD because that was the shortened term from Kaleb's "Dupdy". I have no idea where they came up with these, but Mat and I were tired of it controlling our lives and now...we are paying for it. Often no naps and later bed times, BUT we are HOPING to win this war! It has been since last Sunday and we'll keep you posted :)! (Yells from Kohen in the background as I type.)
Kaleb loves to play on the computer and he even lets Kohen help him out. I think they know more than I do about them. Kaleb is also doing really well at reading. He refuses to believe that there is anything that he can't read, which is great until you are trying to be sneaky (i.e. Christmas presents) I told Mat he should have let me teach him more French and German.
Kohen has begun doing this face (pictured above) when he is in trouble or wants something. It makes us laugh and he loves the reaction. How can you resist???
Aunt Buddy and Uncle TJ came for the weekend and we had a lot of fun hanging out, playing games, shopping and we even had an extended family movie night.
We started our Christmas crafts, the boys do really well at making "sumpin'" as Kohen says. They should...we do them all the time now. If there weren't child labor laws, we might be financing our next home with the things they make!
Mat brought the kitchen set back from a trip to our house and they were so excited to have one more thing that they haven't played with in a while. There is a video clip...you'll have to check it out.
So it sounds as though I am really domesticating the boys...I am just refining their softer sides so that when they are future STEELERS, they will be well rounded men!
'Til next time-- Love you all!

Lots to do!

Aunt Buddy and Uncle TJ came to visit us after Grandma left and while they were here we went to visit Bloomsburg University, Buddy may be going to be an audiologist next year. We stopped by the park and of course had a house to look at on the way home!!!! It seems like our calendar is always full... it is good because we are getting involved, but a little tiring too! Today we have nothing planned. The boys have colds and Kohen is getting all of his two-year molars. OUCH! So a lazy day seems perfect.
Mat and I went out on the town last night (for about two whole hours!) and the boys had their FIRST babysitter...sad isn't it that we waited this long...they were so excited. Things went well so we'll plan some more Mom and Dad time now.
Hard to believe November is here already! Hope all are well:)!

Trick-or-treating

We missed not being able to trick-or-treat in our old neighborhood, but the boys still had a lot of fun! They had the routine down quickly and got to see the firetruck pictured up close...Koey kept saying "I don't like it!" Grandma Miller was out to visit for a couple of days and so that was fun! She got to see Kaleb's school and watch him in the Halloween parade. The cowboy costumes worked out well. Moms fingers will heal eventually. :)
I hope everyone had fun!

The great pumpkins!

We went to a birthday party on Saturday for one of our new friends from Texas. It was at a local arcade, which is in the mall, and I am thankful that I do most of my shopping online now because I don't know that we can go to the mall without the kids begging to go back. It was a lot of fun!
Pumpkin carving was a two night process thanks to the Steelers' loss, we waited until after the game to begin, but as you can see the boys did a great job and we got in on the fun too. Koey likes to get the insides out and we practically had to rip the carver from Kaleb. He wanted to do every detail imaginable.
Halloween pics soon to come!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere!

We went with Kaleb on his school field trip to the pumpkin patch today. We got to ride on the wagon, see some farm animals, play in hay and choose our own pumpkins. It was a lot of fun and nice that we could spend the day with Dad too!

Nothing new

So here are some pictures of the last couple of weeks. We went back home to Ephrata and then onto Aunt Buddy and Uncle TJ's house for a visit. Kohen helped to make breakfast and Kaleb get hooked on Wii! When we got home Kohen Stickered himself (with a little help from Dad) silly, looking a lot like the Colonel!
Lately we are trying to enjoy the last of the warmer days at our favorite parks and continuing to house hunt!

More dancin'!

So, fall has absolutely arrived. We are feeling the chill and the leaves are beginning to turn. Not much new with the Meyers...still looking at properties, another open house this weekend. If you know someone who needs a house...SEND THEM OUR WAY! WE know a great one:).
Here is a clip of the boys dancing. They love moozic (see previous posts) and have a broad playlist from which they choose. As you can see they like Tina- who doesn't???

Are you READY?????

Do you think we are ready??? We always look like crazy football fanatics all dressed in our garb...but hey you have to support your team! (they did not wear the hats out of the house by the way!) Koey and I had a fun play date at the park today and Kaleb brought home his first homework assignment from Preschool:). The teacher in me was so excited!!!!!

Hangin' out and clowning around!

Another rainy weekend and it is like we are trying to win an award for the most innovative indoor games. We have added balloon golf (see picture) and balloon tennis to the list. After Bible school and all the rain we are honorary clowns thanks to the balloon skills we now have. The boys began making paper mache pumpkins...Kohen's is quite psychedelic~Kaleb's very pumpkin-like...and in between bouts of downpours we were able to make it outside where Mat and the kids climbed trees. Mom's horrible haircuts, finally making it to church, a new church which we all really liked, and a few house hunting visits and another weekend has passed. We are of course excited for tomorrow...redemption for the Black and Gold - against Baltimore nonetheless! Go Steelers:)!

Fun at the fair!

We attended the infamous Bloomsburg Fair on Monday. After a frustrating chain of events we finally got there and met our friends, Beth and Mike and their little boy Dominic. We did all of the fair things, games, rides and junk food :(. We were still recovering from Sunday's horrible game...so those helped.

Kohen is now going to story time and loving it. He has such a hard time coming out of his shell...for those of you who know him, you realize that is sarcasm, because he stands in the middle of all of the circles and commands everyone's complete attention with his singing, dancing and that very fake (but hilarious) laugh. He loved it though and I am sure he will be happy to go back.
Sorry for all of the pictures. I can never choose which ones to add! And yes, we apparently like our green shirts! :) I'll remember to put them away before the next set of pictures.
