Kaleb finished his first season of soccer, U6. Mat and I were team parents, but Mat did all the work because of my eye "stuff". He is a great coach and his team did really well. Kaleb is already ready for another sports season to start up again!
Here are the kids when The Mahonskis came for a visit. It is always great to see them again. The kids act like their was no time lost and they have an awesome time playing together.

Carving pumpkins was fun, they did almost all of their own carving this year. Koey is a bit out of control with his carver, but he got the job done for the most part. Kaleb learned at school that you can keep the seeds for next year's pumpkins so we'll have a lot more to carve next year I guess :)! I know my eyes are closed but the rest of the gang looks good and really my eyes usually aren't open much further anyway!
The front porch is a glow and our Steelers pumpkin brought another win. It just might be there until February.

Mat and the boys on our hayride to get Pumpkins!

The front porch ready for Halloween and Football Season!
Mat and Koey enjoying the Carolina breeze!
Us next to the wild horses of Corolla, I know at this point there's a fence in the picture, but if you look to the left there is a break in the fence, where the horses then came walking closer to us. At that point I made the kids get closer to the truck...just in case. We went four wheeling in Pappy's truck on the beach in order to be able to see them and it was totally worth it!Kohen at his first day of Preschool. He was so excited for me to drop him off. No looking back for him. His teacher had to keep saying, "Say goodbye to your mom." He was just ready to get on with the day and be a big boy like his brother.

Pappy enjoying the new playset with rest of the family.

***********************************************************************************
Back in the swing of things upon returning from vacation. We had a great week in Corolla with Pappy and Grandma Miller and our friends Beth, Michael and Dominic. Kohen and Kaleb are already ready to go back. Aren't we all!
I had my first eye surgery on Monday. The next one is tomorrow morning and then look out everyone! I will actually be able to see. From the repeated steroid use after the eye diseases, I had developed a cataract on my right eye and had it removed with vision correcting lenses. So being thirty-one with cataracts, the benefit is I no longer have to wear my lovely "Spectacular Spec-tackles" as we call them.
Kaleb is LOVING school. He is becoming quite the eco-warrior thanks to his teacher and he was even disappointed to learn that he had a long weekend! I wonder where he gets that from...no comments Tiffany! Tomorrow he will play in his last soccer game too for the fall. His team really does well considering Mat and I are the team parents and we know NOTHING about soccer. Luckily at the age, they just kick the ball around, basically no rules and no goalie! That much we could handle.
So I am hoping that this post finds all of you well ...until next time. Blessings!

First Day of Kindergarten

So the day is here. Kaleb started kindergarten and he could not have been more excited. I, on the other hand, am still wiping away tears. Koey and I will have to learn to adjust without our Dubbers. Here are the pictures.

Lots going on in the Meyer house.

Sorry again for the long lapse in blogs...We have been busy here doing a lot of little projects. We have had a couple of rounds of company, for which we are thankful. If not for the visitors it would be a while before we would see the family. No plans to go back to the Burgh for a little while.

So what has been happening. We are once again homeowners of only one home. We closed here on the house in July and are loving where we are. I am glad that God knows better than I because he has perfectly placed our family. Who knows where we would have ended up if I had been in control:).

This summer we planted a garden, built a new swing set, helped Aunt Buddy and Uncle TJ move (a couple of times), started working and working out at the YMCA, did some lanscaping and decorating at the house and just hung out. I has been a great summer.

Kaleb and Kohen are both getting ready to start school. Kohen will go two days a week to preschool and Kaleb - all day KINDERGARTEN! I can not believe it. The teacher has assigned him as a reading coach to help the other kids. He is even going to get his own whilstle. He just keeps talking about the first day and can not wait. They are both so excited. Mom, however, is probably going to have a nervous breakdown!!!

The Little League World Series begins tomorrow with the Parade, which our MOPS group will be in and then it is a couple of games here and there, when we can make them.

Kaleb will also start soccer and we are undoubtedly READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL. Here we go Steelers! Here we go!

Well I hope all are well and I will post some more pictures this evening.

Tee Ball Moments

SOLD!

So our house in Ephrata has finally sold. God is good! I added one last picture of the house just for good old time sake. It is bittersweet. We had so many great memories there and it will always be our first home but we are truly happy where we are now. The other pictures are from our visit with the Mahonskis- our Ephratian neighbors. Emily is always so great about helping out when we come down to get things. The kids love to play together as you can see and the best part is we still get to see them all the time when they visit their family up here:). We, Mat mostly, finished the walkway in front of the house with the light at the end. The porch still has all of the patio furniture on it...well because the patio is the next project! The other pictures are displaying our only room, the living room, to have almost everything put in place. I am not the decorating kind at all, though slowly but surely we are getting there. The boys loved the Superjump in Williamsport as you can see and so did mom! I used the excuse that I HAD to play with them, but the Batman slide was just fun. And the last picture is of Koey with his friend Sophi. They played together all day Saturday and just had the best time. Look out, he is a ladies man for sure! He gets his motorcycle skills from Pap and Dad. I am going to add video of Kaleb at TeeBall. They are doing all coach pitch now and all of the kids do such a great job. Keep an eye out for those. They take forever to load, otherwise they would be on here.
I hope all are well and thanks for all of the house prayers! They paid off, so keep on praying for the other things in life, knowing that God is ALWAYS faithful, but his timing and ours might not always be the same. (A lesson I can't seem to grasp.) I hope all are well. :)

Sluggers

here are some videos of our little sluggers!

Long time gone...

So it has been a while. Lots to do with the house still this time on the outside. We are really loving it here. We have a garden planted, landscaping started, and have begun a walkway to the front. Now we have to just try to stay clear of the bear!!!! He will be the black dot in one of the pictures behind out neighbors shed.
With school coming to an end for Kaleb as well as Tee-Ball things are beginning to wind down. Okay who am I kidding??? They never wind down!
The activity on our house has picked up, so that is a blessing. God's in control and I know he will handle it.
Not much else going on that is new. We are loving the Pens games. They cut it a little too close sometimes, but we, of course, loved game 7!!!! Check out the pictures and the videos and I hope that all are well. ;)They are random ones of our trip to Pittsburgh to see family, Kaleb at his artshow at school and TeeBall (that's him catching and Mat coaching, the boys on the mower, Mat enjoying our living room for the first time, the Mother's Day Tea at Kaleb's school, etc.

Warm Weather and Meyer Firsts!

So we are very thankful for the warm weather! We spent most of the weekend outside playing..Hallelujah! And Kaleb LEARNED TO RIDE HIS BIKE...in 10 minutes. He does not get that from mom, that is for sure. He is so proud of himself and I started sobbing the moment I caught sight on him on his own. My baby is a big boy and reminding more of that everyday. WE are proud of him too and I am dreading some on what I know is inevitable. He was riding his bike off the neighbors ramp today and loving it!! AAGGGHHH!
Both boys also took a spin on the motorcycle. Koey begrudgingly went, but loved it and Kaleb didn't want to get off.
Mat was able to capture Koey falling asleep at dinner. He has been napless most days and here is the end result of that! The other pictures are of the boys with David and Christopher when they came to visit for Kaleb's birthday. We don't get to see them very much but you would never know it to see them once they are reunited. They had a blast!
I hope the sun was shining where you are and that all are well! Enjoy the videos and pictures.

No Pictures, but an update!

Okay so I have not posted in over a month now...sorry Tiffany. I have to admit, I haven't because I am too lazy to load the pictures from our camera. It takes forever and so it has been a deterent.
We are still plugging along. The floors are finshed and we are now just enjoying the house. No pictures hung yet, but everything is pretty much in it's place. The house in Ephrata is yet to be sold, but I feel like we are getting closer. God has given me peace about it though. It will happen in His timing for our good and I know hindsight, or shall I say Hissight, will be 20/20.
We signed the boys up for school. Kaleb for KINDERGARTEN! and Koey for Preschool. Hard to believe. They are so big, so energetic and so much a blessing that I need to be more appreciative of them and who they and where they are. Today at MOPS we talked about perspective and I am certain that parenting without FAITH is impossible and ridiculous!~ I have grown so much as a mom and my boys teach me more about myself than anyone else ever could. They bring out the best and the worst in me and I am learning to appreciate and love the journey and I am also realizing that I am growing them for God's purposes and not my own. So if you are a mom reading this, hang in there and read Galatians 6:9. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Another mom shared that today and what a day to hear it. It has been a long week, a long winter and God is good to have placed us where he has! Praise HIM!
Have a good day and I will try to post some pictures!

Where, oh where have we been...

Yes, we are still here. I have not touched the blog in weeks and so to fill you in we have been doing.........home improving! I know shocking?!?!?! Mat has just finished our bathroom floor and over the weekend we tiled the downstairs bathroom. One to go and we are done for a while, or so I thought but Mat has already begun thinking about the landscaping projects that he wants to do! The boys are feeling the effects. As you'll see Koey is a master floorer and Kaleb prays daily for the flooring to be done. If that isn't a hint, I don't know what is.

Well, what would a blog from the Meyer's be without mention of ours STEELERS! Mat got the Satellite to get signal and all was set for the game after a week of stressing about no TV! We were on edge all game, like everyone else I am sure, but with 1:58 left, I told Mat, "We can do it!" I knew Big Ben wouldn't let me down. Plus, I was literally sick thinking that the boys went to bed at half time thinking that the Steelers had won. I had no intention of telling them otherwise! Thanks Santonio. Kohen grabs his terrible towel everytime the Disney commercial with Ben and Santonio is on and SCREAMS "Go STEEWERS!" WE are still a little excited.

So I hope all are well and I will try to be back sooner! :)

Muncy first then Tampa!!!

No we are not going to the Super Bowl ...Physically! But of course in Spirit!
We are hoping to be in our house by the Super Bowl and so are our neighbors in the apartment I am sure.
The video shows the progress made this weekend. Thanks Albrights for all of your help. The movin' song on the videos is getting old I know but it is the only song that isn't really weird and since we are moving it applies. That is what you get when the songs are free. Plus it takes a really long time to sit and listen to all of the others... so listen to the Steelers Polka over top of it if you'd like!
We plan to continue putting the flooring down before the carpet installers come and to tile all of the bathrooms too this week. A lot still to do and the boys both have colds, but to quote Big Ben, "THE LORD IS GOOD!" And these things are minute in the scheme of things.
Go BLACK and GOLD!!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Here We Go

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

Another few days have passed and things in the house are coming along. Almost a functioning kitchen as far as cooking goes. The oven is in but needs to be wired. Mat is so good about all of those things. I just attach the blades to the ceiling fans and hold things...otherwise I am useless.
The boys are definitely ready to have one house and so are we. Kohen is really confused about where he actually lives still and it seems like every time we go to get something it is at the other location:)! Oh well, only a couple more weeks to go. Once we have carpet and flooring the move will begin ASAP.
It is freezing here as I am sure it is where most of you are. The Albrights will be joining us this weekend to help us celebrate Mat's 31st birthday on Sunday! Wow is he getting old?!?!?! We have an open house in Ephrata again on that day and of course the Steelers game...we are hoping for two big birthday surprises for Mat! Super Bowl and an offer on the house. :)
Stay warm and more pictures to come next time.

Painting!

We're Blessed!

Sorry it has been a while. My sister has been asking if I have changed the blog...so I am changing the blog! If you noticed the title and you know my Dad..you get it. His signature response to "How are you?"---"I'm blessed!" and so are we.
The past week, we have been crazy busy getting the house, that God has provided us, ready for the big move in. My family came to visit and worked NON-STOP WITHOUT COMPLAINING AT ALL for days. Two and a half days to be exact and really they never complained once. We painted all but two room and an entry way. WHEW!!! Buddy smashed her hand in the ladder my dad just bought (for our many projects) and kept going like a trooper. Dad was literally painting corners and edges on an extension ladder with one of Kaleb's very small paint brushes to be sure it was perfect. Mom watched the boys for hours on end and I think, I hope, enjoyed having quality time with them and TJ did whatever was asked of him and of course entertained us all the whole time.
How blessed we are! In spite of the sore bodies, various paint colored well everythings---we had a great time too just being together. I love them all so much and really hope that the next time we get to see each other we can just relax and enjoy the fruits of their labor. I will enclose pictures of their hard work and update as we go.
Did I mention the boys' rooms are painted to look like a football field with true to life Steelers on the wall? GO STEELERS!
